Re: my grandfathers truck.
Thats a very nice truck. Great condition. Trucks up here in Michigan do not last to long with the road salt. I have a 69 C20 Chevy Custom Camper in great shape. I bought it 3 yrs ago and the truck is from AZ. Of course as soon as I got it I do not drive it in the winter and only during the summer on nice days. I plan to fix it up some day. But money is a little short.

Re: my grandfathers truck.
It looks to be a real solid ol truck. Must have been kept under carport a lot of its life to still look that good. Classic truck.

Re: my grandfathers truck.
Good lookin truck, my truck was built at the old Lakewood plant as well and I'm assumin had been up in north Georgia its whole life until I got a hold of it and brought it down closer to Atlanta. When GM closed the plant my dad covered a story on it and he was tellin me how the place was such a throwback to the old times with its wood floors and all the old machinery.

Re: my grandfathers truck.
Nice looking truck. Am I the only one that thinks this would be a prime base for a sleeper? Put in a souped big-block, behind a muncie m-22, and keep it in stock weathered form.
Still, it is a nice truck. |
Re: my grandfathers truck.

Re: my grandfathers truck.
Your grandfather, eh....My age is showing. He looks to be about my age, although some of us "weather" better than others do.
I'm gonna guess he's a VietNam era veteran, who went to work at the plant after he got out of the military and this body-style of truck is what he was building when he started there. If so, that would explain his love for and knowledge of the body style. It scares me to to know that I could have grandkids who are easily past their legal drinkin' age.....been out of school for over 40 years. Man, starting to remind me of my dad...and that's scary!! |
Re: my grandfathers truck.
uh...no hes not from villa rica. and he wasnt in Nam either....he just worked his ass off on these trucks and loves em...
