Weatherstripping for top
Hi guys.. dumb question. I've been going through some catalogs here at the house and I'm finishing up the fixing on my top and want to put it on. Is there any weather stripping that goes on it between the bedrail of the truck and the top? I must be blind but I would think something would go there to protect the paint on the bedrail
Am I going crazy? (don't answer this question ;)) |
Re: Weatherstripping for top
Nope, not crazy, just blind! J/K, Ya, there is a bed to top seal for both sides of the bed tops. It is different for single or double wall tops. If you have LMC's catalog, it is pictured in there on the weather strip page for Blazer. I haven't bought any of their weather strip, and would bet all the vendors have it though. Jeff.

Re: Weatherstripping for top
I just replaced all my top seals when I put the top back on this fall. There is definatley seals between the bed rails and the top. Everyone carries them along with just about all the other top seals.

I figured I was blind. I'll look again. Thanks

Re: Weatherstripping for top
If its a double wall top they are kinda hidden up in the channel so maybe you are not blind..

Re: Weatherstripping for top
bouncy,
Do I need bed/rail weatherstripping if I am only going to run with soft top? I removed the double-sided tape the PO used when the hard top was on, lol. I won't be putting the hard top back on again -- especially since my friend, who was storing it for me, broke it the other day while rearranging his garage. |
Re: Weatherstripping for top
Usually the rubber ends up sticking to to the top anyway. I never had the top rubber with my soft top.
