Hydralic Clutch
I have a 1960 parts truck and it has a Master Cylinder with a port for the Brakes and a port for a Clutch Cylinder. Does anyone know where the clutch actuating cylinder mounts on the truck. I have been thing that this might be a work around for the V8 swap I am doing in my 63 shortwide. The problem I am having is the linkage for the clutch that is in it is right where the exhaust manifold dumps out. If anyone knows where the clutch cylinder mounts under the truck please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Does anyone know if the Slave Cylinder that mounts to the Bell Housing On the 60 C10 is the same as the bell housing on the 63 with a manual clutch? Is this something that can be adapted to the 63?

Re: Hydralic Clutch
JRB, like was just said the slave cylinder mounts to the bell housing on the passenger side. There is no provision to mount the cyl on 63' up bell housings, except for big trucks that still used the hydraulic clutch. Hydraulic bell housings for the 235 six are easy to find, but they will not fit any other engine. A 60-62 hydraulic V8 bell housing would probably do what you want, but they are very hard to find. It would most likely be easier to find a left exaust manifold that dumps in the right place. There are several different manifolds for the small block V8(I assume that's what you're using, anyway) that will work with the mechanical clutch linkage. Just make sure the engine you use has the forward hole for the clutch pivot ball.

Re: Hydralic Clutch
The problem I am running into is the engine I have doesnt have the forward pivot hole. I have a set of ram horn manifolds for the motor that will reposition the exhaust. The thing is without that pivot hole I will have to fabricate a mounting plate for the clutch linkage that is in place now. I guess there is no easy work around on this. I just want to use this engine because I got it for free and it seems like a pretty tight 305. Thanks for the info.
