Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
In the current issue of Truckin magazine (volume 32, No 3 '06) there is coverage of the 2005 Scrapin The Coast show in Biloxi, Mississippi. There is a pic of a slammed orange 87. The tailgate handle has been shaved, yet the tailgate trim matches the original trim, but without the notch for the tailgate handle. Anybody know where to get this trim piece?

Never mind, I found it on Chevy Duty's web-site. Wish I could find a pic of the truck to post, because it's damn nice.

Yes the truck is very nice, just looked it up. I'd like to know how he got the front that low, either he Z'ed it or it has the crossmember mod...anyone know this guy????

Is this the truck? I'm to lazy to go find the Truckin but I'm pretty sure you are talking about Cory's truck.

the blazer ones dont fit the trucks though do they?...i'm pretty sure i tried that years ago and it didnt work man, that truck is looooowww, i just wander why he went through all the trouble to make it one very sweet custom ride, and kept the dumbo mirrors? |

One reason he left the mirrors is the paint is stock. While he did add a cowl hood, and shave the tailgate the rest of the paint is original. I talked with him at Texas Heatwave right before he bought the truck. He wanted a truck like mine that retained the stock look but was low. This was a low mileage all original truck when he located it. |
Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
Some of us like the Dumbo mirrors. :) My last truck (not a Chevy...) had a set of small "sport mirrors." I couldn't see a damned thing out of them, and swore I would never have them again.

its just a personal preferrence thing....there def alot more practical as far as your field of vision.... but...on a lowered 2wd....they just look larger than life:o they look good on a 4x4 though |
Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
I took off my sport mirrors and replaced them with the dumbo mirrors before I had my truck painted. I like them.

Hey N2TRUX do you know how big the frame Z is? 2" or 3"?
|
Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
Nice truck but I agree with some of you I would lose the big mirrors.

Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
I hate teh look of the Dumbo mirrors...But love the functionality of them. I a removing my sport mirrors...DUH cant see a thing haha. And just fillin in the holes. I can turn my neck just as easily. Did it for 5 years in my old truck haha.
OH yeah... That truck is PHAT!!! |

Frank, I have a couple at the shop there in Cedar Park, too. I will be down again this weekend if you want to stop in and say hi.

Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
JUST A THOUGHT, BUT IF HE WAS ABLE TO COLOR MATCH THE HOOD AND TAIL GATE WHY NOT REMOVE THE "DUMBO'S" REPLACE,OR SHAVE AND COLOR MATCH THE DOORS? my 2 cents

Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
Ken....They seriously offered that as a color in 87??? I have never seen one like it.

Re: Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin
Love That Truck. I See It Almost Every Month In One Mag Or Another. Always In The Show Coverage Section. This Guy Must Do The Show Circuit. Once Again Love The "mostly Stock" Look, Slammed To The Ground.
