How many non stock items have you added, and what did you use?

I have added power steering and power disks to my truck and a 90 something chevy bench. I have everything to put an under dash A/C in it as well as tilt and cruise from a 79 van, fuel cell to go under the frame. I have also installed switches on the doors to activate my dome light. I would like to put power windows and locks on it. What vehicle, if any, could I get the window regs and motors out of and get them to work on my truck? I think a power lock conversion would be fairly simple since it is just the actuator that goes up and down. I will be returning to the same place I just got my tilt from and pull the lock actuators, door panels (for my son) and switches off of the same 85 truck I got my A/C brackets from. If the motors and/or regs can be modified to use with my 71, I'll pull them as well.
Only items I need now are rockers. Once I get them installed, I will be pulling the body off and cutting the frame down as well as the bed. I'll be able to put all my goodies on when I put it back together as well as painting the cab.
Still looking for that person to trade my very nice 70 clip for a 67 clip...

I put keyless power locks in a Nova wagon. Here is a link. There are two kinds of actuators out there. One will lock and unlock, and has two wires. The other kind has four wires IIRC and can sense when it is being moved and will send a signal to lock/unlock other doors. You are right, locks are a simple. Took me some time to do the wiring, but only took a day to install four doors. I used an Audiovox system.

I noticed that LMC and Chevy Duty sell lock kits that should take a lot of the thinking out of an install. Possibly a board vendor carries something as well.

I don't think anything in my truck is original.... 67 with: PDB off a '71, '77 350 engine, 700R4, dual exhuast, lokar shifter, complete '72 custom interior, 93 silverado split bench seat, 72 "floor shift" column and wheel, I'm sure there is a lot more....

Soon to add: ECE 6 lug rotors and 1 1/4" sway bar. Blazer gas tank. Also various body parts from Goodmark.

My '69 GMC is pretty much the way it left the factory........Still has the 305V-6, 4spd, and it was shipped as a cab/chassis, so the box bolted in in Aug 69 is Original also  About the only thing I've put on it that isn't stock is a seat cover that I got out of my '71 C-20 when I put new buckets in it to replace the bench. The C-20 was green and the seat cover was blue.............Never could figure out why, but what the heck, the GMC is blue and has blue interior

My '71 C-20 on the other had is far from stock, Originally a Cheyenne with a 350/3spd, is now Cummins powered which is backed by a "Custom" OD trans setup I cooked up here at our shop with a total of 10 spds. I put a hydro-boost on the brakes. I added a stake body and a CB as well.

My 67 is not completed yet, but here are the things I've changed so far. Shaved the door handles, shaved the filler neck, filled the GMC lettering in the grill, filled the cab seam, added five hole discs up front, five hole posi out back, and shortened the frame. I will be going with a 350/400 combo, 4 core radiator, power steering, power brakes, blazer fuel tank, 1988 cargo light with 3rd brake light, and a stepside 80s bed. I'm sure there will be more before I'm finished.

Well let's see, the engine is a 1966 396, the trans is a 1984 700R4, the bed, front fender and core support are from 3 different 1969 C/10s, the vac gauge is from a 70 C/50 and the biggest one is the wheels are from a 1080's model Ford F 250...

72 Chevy Custom Deluxe with an HEI 350 4bbl out of an 80's suburban, Edelbrock Performer carb and intake, 1" carb spacer, 84 vette valve covers, 69 vette air cleaner, lots of chrome, Stage 2 Trans Go shift kit in rebuilt TH350, highway geared 80's suburban differential, 90's chevy extendecab buckets and console, custom built door panels, lots of billet, autometer gauges in custom built cluster, van tilt, 80's chevy rallys, dual exhaust, firebird marker lights. I think thats about it for now. Its not easy listing stuff when most of its in boxes waiting for the truck to be reassembled.

Hmmmm. Mine has a lot of two trucks into one. Most of it is from a 69 C10 Fleet, but now the front cross member and cab from a 70, doors from a 71, new crate engine, and a Turbo 350 from I don't know what. Other things include a 72 Blazer tank, buckets seats from a 97 Chevy C1500, Console from an 80's Blazer and various replacement parts.

I've changed at lot of the last few years to include: 454, hydrobooost brake system and hydraulic clutch all from an 89 1 ton, seats from a 99 Silverado, custom flatbed, lift springs, power steering, shackle flip for the rear axle, heavy duty shackles for the front axle, dropped drag link, carpet, custom door panels, modified van tilt (yet to be installed), aftermarket gauges, upgraded headlights, custom gas tank . Geeze, pretty long list.

Re: How many non stock items have you added, and what did you use?

Eventually mine will be a franken-truck. For now it just has front knuckles and brakes off an '84 K5, power MC/prop setup from a '72, added a glovebox light from a '70, new 4-row radiator instead of a 2-row, soon to get a power steering setup from a '72.

One of these days I want to pony-up and get a pair of those extreme-bend hooks...

Re: How many non stock items have you added, and what did you use?

Just finished converting my '69 to disc brakes and adding a power booster. Installed a hidden hitch with flip down license plate bracket. The brake conversion, PB, and hitch came from ECE. I also added a ten dollar headlight buzzer that I purchased from a board member.
