1970 swb
i bought a 1970 swb ac cab truck with rust on the rockers
the bed is in great shape the motor is a 292 with a 3 speed iam not sure if i should try to get it running or part it out the truck has no body damage the motor is stuck has not been on the road in 17 years iam the second owner ? it has leaf springs dont know if thats normal. what do yall think? it is a fleetside the only problem is no tail gate this is the best bed i have seen that has not been worked on. |

I had a 70 short step , 292 th350 , rear leaf , all stock from the factory . I really liked that truck , do you have pics ? :)

Parting it should bring you some decent $$, especially the bed if it is in good shape. That said, unless it is has rust issues past the rockers, it sounds like a good truck to restore. All depends on if you feel like redoing the truck, I guess.

Without pics... I think I'd want to toss the engine to the curb, install a big 'ole caddy motor (once you drive one, you'll never be happy with a small block again) get the brakes working and have fun.

Step or Fleet?Which tranny?I`d guess 4spd.Leafs were an option.I`m guessing Stepside,too.Pictures would be kewl.

If it is a short fleet and you part it, put me in line for the bed.
