e-bay item - power steering

I'm somewhat interested in this item but..

1. Is this the unit for our trucks?

2. He says that it is for '67-'68. I don't recall a different power steering box being used for '69-72.

Check it out:

Not a 67-68 box. Maybe 69+

67 & 68 used a hydraulic ram for assist, not an integral box like that.

ya I think only 67 had the ram style that is why there is a stock hump in the frame on 68 on up to clear the ps box

Hmmmm.....my '68 has the ram style. My understanding is that the ram was discontinued for a ps box in mid-68.

Yes, early '68 trucks still had the ram type. I was told once that all '68 396 trucks had the ram type, too.

Nate003,

The ram-type power steering is similar to that used on Corvettes up to 82. I don't have access to to Corvette parts books but I suspect that some of the pieces are actually the same. The steering box itself is a regular manual steering box with a different pitman arm.
