Steal floor repair???
 

Hey guys I just got my 72 project home today(sorry no pics)and it needs a little work but not much. Rockers, cab mounts and paint. Its in great shape for the territory.. Any way I was wondering about repairing the bed floor and the best way to do it??? Its steel and their is a few small holes starting to show. I have a good mig-welder and was wondering if you can buy floor patch panels or if I'll have to make the panels myself???? Any help would be great. Ill send pics when i get a digi-camera:cool: :fb:

They pretty much sell patch panels for just about everything. Check out

Main thing is to cut out as little of the original floor as possible/reasonable/workable because all the patch panels have thinner sheet metal than the original. Also, try not to cut thru the reinforced plate surrounding the body mount bolt in the floor (on each side). The floor and plate below it rarely rust thru. Cut out the bottom of the cab supports to survey the rust in the floor, the body bolt sleeve, and the inner rocker. That will guide much of your need to cut.
