Re: my 63 longbed stepside
There's a reason that not that many were made;) but all that matters is if YOU like it. Looks pretty straight!

Re: my 63 longbed stepside
Hey Sonomaguy 87,
Don't know how many were made but I've got one too and I think they are cool! Question for ya: is your drive shaft one piece or two? See this thread 1963 LWB driveshaft puzzler on 1/23/06. |

Re: my 63 longbed stepside
Well, I don't think they were very popular for two reasons: Stepsides were marketed as "sporty," and less utilitarian. Longbeds are generally considered the opposite. People buy longbeds so they can haul more stuff. Why then turn around and use a narrow bed? To be honest, I don't think many people liked the looks of them.
BUT, it's still cool to have a classic, and the rarity has a cool factor to itself. I'd convert it to short, but that's just me (I'm  like that);) |
Re: my 63 longbed stepside
Has anyone converted a Long stepside bed to a short? I've seen the threads for cutting a long fleetside bed down but it seems it would be easier with a stepside bed. I suppose it would be easier to just get a pair of short bed sides...
