When they are for sale, they go quickly. The two you listed above are the only "new" ones I've seen. They wanted around $1000 each.

I'd suggest putting a "wanted" ad on craigslist or another online classified site. Other than that, ya just gotta keep your eyes open. Hit all the swap meets and let all your friends, family & friends-friends know your looking.

That composidyne must be out of business or their web site doesn't work. I am going to contact my rod shop tomorrow. I will deffinatley keep my eyes open and I put a want add on craiglist already. Reckon I could make one out of my full top? Thanks, Kade

If you have some skills with fiberglass, I don't know why you couldn't cut down a full top. You'll need to build a bulk head too.

My old man is the shiz on stuff like that and I have a friend that owns a custom hot rod shop, maybe he could help. Will I need a bulkhead if I go with a bed cover? What is a bulkhead? I am pretty new at this.
Thanks, Kade

Re: Need help finding a half-top!!!!!

The bulk head is the divider between the cab and the bed. They were/are made of steel. You should be able to fad one up. Now, to find a donar top. If your current top is good, I'd hold on to it and start with a top that needs some help.

You know there are soft tops available. Specialty Top Co makes two versions. They are quality built and come in handy if you get caught in a rain storm.

I'm after one too! I have also been toying with the idea of using a top off of a truck. I have a 72 that beyond repair, would use it for practice. I think a truck front panel could be modified for the bulk head. A guy a few blocks from me did this with a truck top and the back of the cab was used as a bulk head. ( top and bulk head is all one piece) Have not seen it close up but he did tell me that it unbolts, although he was planning on welding it all up. (no top off, screw that!) I'l post again after I talk to him, If it looks like good work I'll ask to take some picks.

There is a Blazer on Craigslist in Portland with a half top. Buy the half top for $5K, get a blazer under it for free!
