What should I offer?

I'm going to shorten my 68 lwb to a swb, and I've been looking for a fleet bed. It turns out, the old trailer in my neighbors back yard (parked in the same spot for 15 years) is a 68-72 shortbed. I haven't really looked at it yet, but what I can tell is it has no floor, but the bed sides and back wall seem pretty straight. I don't think it has a tailgate either. What should I offer him for it when I talk to him? What is a decent short fleet bed worth? My bed is near perfect - anybody wanna trade a great longbed for a shorty?? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/smile.gif Thanks

Nice short beds are going for several hundred or more, offer him $100, it couldn't hurt, at least that would give you a starting point.

Well, I looked the bed over last night. It's straight, but rusted beyond repair. Oh well. The search continues..
