16" Rim Width?
What is the width of the stock 16", 8-lug steel rims?
Does anybody know the rated load capacity of these as well? Thanx, Bud |
Re: 16" Rim Width?
Around 16x8. Dont know the load rating, but the 16" 8-luggers are rugged wheels.

Re: 16" Rim Width?
16x6.5 is more like it for stock.

Re: 16" Rim Width?
Wolfthing is correct. I have found replacement wheels(Ford I believe-Firestone logo stamped in rim) in both 6" and 7" widths.

Re: 16" Rim Width?
Thanx guys.
I figgered it was about 6.5 (I never got 'round to measuring it) so that is what I guesstimated. I bought some brand new Bridgestone A/T Dueler "Revo" tires and they recommend at least a 6.5" width for the size I bought. My truck was originally fitted with 265/75-16 tires and that is what I stuck with. I have been the gambit with tires (BFG's, Firestone, Dayton) and am hoping these Bridgestones live up to their rating. The last tires I had, Cooper S/T-C Discoverers were a POS. They started to separate and these were brand new! I am carrying a camper but am not overloaded (5360 LBS fully loaded on the rear axle) . I have the "E" rated tires to boot just for the added "comfort" and carrying capacity. I was looking at Rickson 19.5" wheels and Michelin 225/75-16 tires but for $2,200.00 I'll pass. Even the Vision 81 rims kept the pricetag above $1,600.00! I got these Revo's for $835.00 with full warrantee from Discount tire so once again we will see how the summer roads accross the western deserts & Texas play out for these tires! |
