Bad News Maybe?
When I recently replaced my lower ball joints I had just put on new tires and described a "quickness" in the steering before the ball joints were replaced. Well now that the repair is done and front end aligned I still have a little bit of that quickness and my truck seems to "wander" a bit. Upper joints?, Steering linkage probs? I didn't do enough did I? I knew I didn't do enough!!! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIIIIIE!!! .....sorry, um, help please?

Re: Bad News Maybe?
Who ever did your alignment should have checked and told you if any other front end components were bad/weak. ME when I replace One ball joint, I replace them all. I hate changing them and figure they been in there same amoutn of time, get it all done at once.
One thing I noticed about these year trucks, (the 82 I had) the steering was overly quick/sensitive compared to my 70 and 96. One other thing you failed to mention is the tires themselve. Some tires are just "greasy" or slippery feeling and will give you that feeling you are talking about. My $.02, is take the truck back to whoever did the alignment and have them check their work. |
