I came across the 'Burb the have the Lincoln LS door handles in the May 2006 edition of Sport Truck. That is indeed trick. In fact, the owner/builder has a lot of other cool mods in it. Sport Truck needed to allocate more pages of their rag to cover his mods. Two year build-up on the 'wrong-side' 'Burb.

I read the article, the handles dont actually work themselves. There is switch on the inside of the handle, so when you pull it, it activates a door popper, just like the remote on a shaved door handle. Very trick. You could do this with any handle. All you have to do is make the connection when you pull the door handle to the relay and it will pop the door right open.

From sporttruck.com "The door handles are from a Lincoln LS luxury car, but they don't operate in a normal fashion. If you were to grab any of the handles and attempt to pull open the door of the Suburban, you'd be surprised because the handles don't move. This is because there are a series of buttons on the inside of the handle that pop open the door"

Hope that helps.

yeah I saw this article too and noticed the guy had some really cool hood hinges if I remember right? I'll look for the mag and see if I can scan it.

I'll save you the trouble....

The article of Moellering's burb is online at http://sporttruck.com/featuredvehicl...ban/index.html.

BTW, I didn't notice the hinges you are referring to.

Gee, must be a British GM? haha

PT cruiser handles look good too. Also 2002/04 Buick Regal. And if you use a remote, put the back door handles from a 4 door Buick on your doors, no key holes. Would look real smooth.
