Battery Guage Testing...

My battery guage is always stuck in the middle. Never moves (even when I had a dead battery). I read that the little black wire with the 4A fuse near the battery is for this guage and I checked the fuse and its ok. Is there any other way to trouble shoot this? Can the guage be tested? Or is there something else between the guage and fuse that commonly fails....

There is another wire on the driver's side. Black with a white stripe, and it also has a 4 amp fuse in line with it. Check it as well and make sure its tied into the output line on the alternator. If not, no workie. Jeff.

Can do. Do you know where this wire is on the driver side? In the engine compartment I assume, maybe in the harness to the alternator?

It looks just like the other side's harness. It is up on the inner drivers side fender near the headlight...at least that's where it was on both of my trucks. Both of my fuses were bad. Replaced them and voila...working gauge.
AGC4 is the fuse type.
