check engine light?
 

When the check engine light comes on, isnt it suppose to stay on until it is reset? The check engine light on the wifes 87 GMC will come on every 4 days to a week.. but as soon as you turn the truck off then back on, it goes out for another 4-7 days... any ideas? i havent been able to get it checked, everytime it comes on i am on time restraints to be somewhere...

The ECM will store whatever code it is setting. Simply go to:

And you'll find everything you need to know about how to check the codes, what the codes are, and what possible issues they may point to. Keep in mind that this is a TPI site, so if something doesn't make sense, or apply to your TBI, give me a PM, and I'll try my best to help you out (the codes all mean the same thing between TBI / TPI btw)
