Re: 67-71doors vs 72 doors?

The window and door regulators shafts are longer for '72 doors because the door panels on a '72 are much thicker than 67-71. There is also a dimple for a screw on the inside of the door right below the wing window. I think a 72 door also has some extra holes for the door panel to clip to. They will fit just fine, it just depends on what door panels you want to use.

Edit: I put 72 regulators in a 67 door so I could put 72 door panels in my truck

Re: 67-71doors vs 72 doors?

All series 10-30 doors 67-72 will bolt on and work with any series 10-30 67-72 cab. 72 doors are easy to spot, they have a reenforcing screw (or hole for one) on the upper inside of the door near where the wing vent passes thru into the inner door.

If you have 67-71 door latches and window regulators, then you'll want to use a 67-71 door panel. If you have 72 hardware, you'll want to use 72 door panels. There are differences on how these inner panels attach, so it's easiest to match the door, inner panel, and hardware than it is to mix them.

67 doors have another small difference, but it's immaterial to the discussion here.

CPNE - Don't leave me hanging here. I know the door and window regulator handles are 67 only but that the 68+ handles will fit on 67. What is the difference you know?

Please enlighten me. Thanks - Bob

Here ya go. 67 doors have round holes to access the door handle bolts, 68-up have teardrop shaped access holes. Of course somewill will have an exception to the "rule".

From what I've seen the 72door panels don't age as well as the older style. Too much plastic. I put a window regulator and track out of 69door in a 67 and never noticed the difference. Had it together in 15 Minutes.

does the reinforcing screw help a lot? it looks to me like the earlier doors w/out the screw look smoother and cleaner than the '72. i ask because mine is a '72, but i never really liked that screw. i guess all the guts from the '72 will fit in an earlier door, including the vent window assy?
