I don't really like the digital look but if thats the look your going for the price doesn't seem to bad and all the rodders I have talked to say good things about Dakota gauges.

I want to know that same thing, I really like the look but wonder about how hard it is hooking these up.

I like mine, blue gauges with a billit faceplate for the cluster and glovebox. It was a fairly easy install.

I have to tell you I had them in my 71 and hated them. I took them out after 2 years of messing with them and replaced them with the package from Covans classic with the autometer ultralite gauges. These work a lot better and look a ton better. I have had so many people tell me that have seen the truck before and after that they like the autometers. Everyone I have talked to has had similar problems. They are voltage sensitive. I had spent many hours on the phone with Dakota digital and there customer service is terrible. My oil pressure and temp would change in opposite directions when you hit the brakes or turned on your turn signal. We had it ground just the way the directions told us. Dakota digital told us several other ways to try it and with no luck. They finally said they have heard this before. Here is a picture with them and trhen replaced. Sorry for the long winded post.

I used to have one, never had any issues with it and sold it to a member about a year or so ago. After having it for a while I really didnt care to much for it, I went with an aftermarket dash and put Autometers in it and really like it far better. As far as installation goes there not hard to install, the speedo is electronic so you have to purchase an converter/adapter if you currently use a cable driven speedo.

How about a pic of the Covan's not so close. Is it a direct replacement?

Mike
