bought a 71 k5 4x4 blazer for 1000 bucks tonight and it runs
 

307, no ac, fulldash, no tach, runs ok ,stored 9 years ,non op i can never get pics to post here :crazy: the rockers and floors are toast the w/s frame is excellant , front clip is in good shape, no cancer , rear quarters have minimal rot ,doors have a little rot in them over all i think i got a good deal , have pics could someone help to post ? original paint on it too never been wrecked and no bondo ! :metal:

any opinons on who sells the best patch panels for these things? and what is the first panel that you do? would you start with the rocker and work your way inward?

Great find! I just bought a 70 2wd for 2k running that I will be using for the rust repair dvds! As far as where to start you will need to start with removal of the rusted parts. Then order of new parts will be somthing like this.
1) floor boards (this part has the inner rocker attached)
2) Kick panel
3) "A" piller bottom if needed (they all most always need it)
4) rear half of inner rocker
5) outer rocker

That will be close from what I can see from the pick. Check out this post for simular repairs that I have done.

thanks for the feed back im glad i got a good deal . im going to do a hei conversion , swap in a intake manifold (edelbrock ) , 4 barrel carb , tune up, and i gotta sort out the brakes too .

i finally got a chance to work out some of the mechanical bugs on the blazer today i removed the old intake, valve covers , and swapped in a edelbrock performer i had in the garage , bought a edelbroc 600cfm carb and popped that on and did the hei conversion , new wires plugs and cap rotor .new coil and fired it up , ran like a friggin champ . bled the rear brakes and drove it around today for about a half anhour . so friggin happy .it drives nice .when i was bleed ing the brakes i noticed that the tank is beat up to hell the strapps are stillthere but the tank just kind a flops around, so i think i might have to scare up a gas tank for this thing , the gas gage works so does the oilpressure gage and the voltage too , not sure about the temp gage but what the hell .:cool: :cool: :cool:
oh and i still have to figure out how the plug wires run i bought the ones for a 75 vette and i think they run under the motor along the sides .

Engine looks a lot better.:D I ran my wires under the manifolds (my engine still has the stock wire looms).

ok so i ordered hooker headers and their exhaust kit from summit and go to do the install and the friggin headers are wrong so back they go to summit but d#mmit if that didnt just suck. but on the plus side i got a chance to really look around under neath my k5 and although the floors are shot the inner rocker boxes look solid as well as the body supports too so i cant be all that pissed .

trouble with summit ? man they already have my money , i talked to a tech guy there he said that they sent 2wd headers...lame well im went out this morning and pulled the header (and the starter ,plugs and the coolant temp sensor ) and boxed it to go back to summit .hope i have better luck this week . tom
