would this be worth putting time in??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
for the people that have done body work on these trucks.... look at the rockrs and back of the cab... do you think this truck would be worth trying to fix, or does it just need all new everything? Thanks |
Re: would this be worth putting time in??
well looks like a great parts truck. for the money it's at now...
but...look's like it needs a ton of sheet metal..if the rockers and cab rears are gone you can bet the cab supports are as well..and the floor boards.. but thats just my thoughts... |
Re: would this be worth putting time in??
IMO it is fine for parts but buying it to fix is not going to save you money over buying something that needs less.
I'm not trying to sell it, but I have a 68 shortbed, factory air, PS, etc, that only needs a drivers side rocker, no floor, no cab corners, etc. and I would sell it for $1800.00 I'm not trying to sell my truck, I'm just saying that you could find others like it and by the time you buy the parts, assuming you have the skill, a welder, etc. you would be far better off than taking on such a huge undertaking that ebay truck will be and you could have it done much sooner. |
Re: would this be worth putting time in??
I wouldn't tackle this unless you have a spare cab. I was thinking the same thing as rage'nrat638. For the $125 its at now it would be easy money back in parts.
See the ebay lies thread. I'd say that the comment about the floor shift "maybe" missing some of the linkage is a guarentee it is missing the linkage. You could do much better. |
Re: would this be worth putting time in??
If you buy it for $100 sure......Tear the cab off oil the frame and p15 it.
Be the first to buy a fiberglass cab and then drive all over the US in your 4banger S10 and get a bed and OEM trany linkage. Rebuild the 6 with a shot of nitros...20 cans of automotive black and your in! $0.02 must be all the sunshine.... |
Re: would this be worth putting time in??
The rocker are not just bad, they're gone. This tells me that the floors, cab supports, inner rocker and corners are bad. Tons of work and mucho dinero. Don't walk away, run. My .02

Re: would this be worth putting time in??
the truck has been abused. you're lookin at a truck with no bed, rust, tiny/poor engine, tranny complications, replacing everything except the front end which looks good, windshield busted. just find a better start or buy it and use parts here on another truck in better condition.

Re: would this be worth putting time in??
Hey now, it's a frame and it has front disc, it's not a bad start as long as you know that you will need atleast one more parts truck, besides half the work is done your almost ready to do the frame and vwalla, now your on your way
