I need your input!

I am debating with buying a 67 swb stepside with a straight 6 and a 4 speed granny tranny. The guy wants $500 but here is the catch. Doesn't run, doors, cab corners, rockers and one front fender are rusted out. The bed fenders are good and the bed is straight. The cab is good except the rockers, corners and a little rust in the floor. The motor oil is black and thick but the crank does turn. I am dieing to buy it but am concerned it is too much of a project. My real question is about the price. Do you guys feel $500 is a good deal. I would think if I get it running I could get that much back easily. Let me know what you think, and thanks for the help!

To me I'd say that is a little high for what you getting, btu I don't know the market up there. If it ran, I'd think about giving him $500, but to me that would be a 200-300 truck.

Price is always a thought, but is it what you want. I bought a 68' 50th with a 6 cyl and 3 on the tree one time because I "really had to have it". I turned out to be a quick fix because I wasn't able to find what I did want. If it's what you want and enjoy a challenge, work with him on the price and get it.

If you are buying it as an investment them move on. But if it strikes the right cord in your heart, and you don't mind all your spare time for the next few years being taken up to see this thing like new and completed by you, buy it what ever the cost.
