Re: It begins again-Start with cab

before anyone asks the black on the welds is just por 15. hate to have all my new welds start rusting as it will probably be out in rain couple of times before I can get sanding

looks good... how long did it take you to do the rockers and floor panels? I am trying to gauge my bodyguys time... thanks

Hell, that makes me feel a lot better about the state of my floor and rockers! Nice work.

Re: It begins again-Start with cab

does the cab stay straight without extensive bracing? I know my doors move up and down now while driving. I figure it is due to the rockers being badly rusted.
it sure looks good. I envy you and your ability to get out in the shop.

Superior quality metalwork. Is it best to do floors and rockers before cab braces or vice versa? My hats off to ya!

YES, awesome. at least i didn't find any foam, even my dad thinks that stuff works, that's rediculous.

Re: It begins again-Start with cab

Thanks guys
Redneckdds and 72swb4me so far I have a couple of weekends invested to tear out and replace
I have only done this a couple of times now so my progress is slower than a bodyman would be
68c15 I didn't brace anything but did mount doors on before welding rockers to check for fit.
Mrblackburnjr I do the floor supports last as they bolt up to the inner rockers which is part of the floor panel so it needed to be in first.
Green Machine you can come down anytime if you have beer. Course then it is probably a 4 weekend process !

cool!, thanks for the tips. what if I make a mock door out of square tube? then I would be able to see inside and work through it.

For me it is better to sit here and look at his results. It is a whole lot less work then getting my fat a$$ up and working in my own shop!
