fill 'er up?

Gas price in Saskatoon Saskatchewan today was $108.9 per litre. Or 93.65 cents US. Is it 3.78 litres per US gallon? That would be $3.53 US dollars per gallon. Glad I don't run on premium.

wow, and I thought 2.69 a gallon was EXTREMELY high.... I bet it's going to end up something like 3.50 a gallon in the summer here... I'm about ready to go buy a really cheap, really cruddy 4 cylinder and get her runnin fine and prime, so I can get like 30mpg... instead of 10mpg with my trucks

Thats what I did picked up a 96 neon with a 2.0 cant get out of its own way but with only taking 7 gallons to fill it and 30 mpg may not look as good as the truck goin down the road but its savin a few pennies!

Thats why I kept my small block instead of going to a big block, I actually wanna be able to drive my truck.

In oregon, they aren't able to gas up on there own, they have ppl getting out of the big house do it for you.
I guess an ex con is more trustworthey than a model citizen.

It was 3.02 to 3.15 in cali middle of last week, makes the 2.75 around the corner look quite a bit better.

Guy across the street when and bought a newer S-10 to use instead of his C/1500... both late 90's early 2000's trucks. He said he did it for the gas mileage.
He felt pretty stupid when i mentioned it'll take a WHOLE LOT OF CRUISIN to pay off the $7,000 S-10 in gas savings.
seven grand will buy a butt load of gas.

Re: fill 'er up?

:haha: thats true I paid 1700 for my neon figuared saving 30 bucks a week like I am a lil over a year or so it will pay for itself, maybe less the way gas prices are goin

You drive a LOT more than him. The S-10 would be a rusted out POS Heap by the time he sees any profit.
Yours can be justified I guess.

I just have a rule of no more than 10 miles commute. I live 6 or so miles from work, and I have no life, so even with a big block non tuned one ton truck with 4.10 gears... I can milk a tank for a week, 2 weeks if I didn't have to pickl up my mom from work every friggen night.

Re: fill 'er up?

ITs all BS this time for the price hike. they knew this ethnanol was going to have to be added for some time. Makes me want to park a truck across from conoco/phillips refinery with a BIG wood 8x6 sign thanking them for price hiking and then drive all over town with it sort of like they do around election time. What if there's another hurricane? $4.5 then? This SH*T has got to stop. Its getting ready to bring the country to its knees.
Okay, off my soap box..

Longhorn Man 04-16-2006 04:46 PM

Re: fill 'er up?

it wasn't BS every other time?
In 2000 (2 years after the gas went up and stayed up) Exxon/mobil's profits was 16 billion.
Now, in 2005, Exxon/mobil's profits were 25.33 billion

So if the crude oil price is going up, why are there profits going up?

Becouse it is all BS

I honestly stopped worrying about it. What can you do? Pretty much nothing.

They say we are running out of crude.... that's not the reason
They say it's becouse of the war/post war stuff.... that's not the reason
They say it was a hurricane.... that's not the reason.
They say it is the oil country's not giving us enough... That's not the reason.

They know, that we will continue to buy gas, regardless of what it costs.
Greed.

97silv5.7 04-16-2006 04:55 PM

Re: fill 'er up?

I agree with you 100% they say its because crude costing more blah blah if that were the case their profits would be dropping not growing immensely

i picked up a 1985 pontiac grand prix(clean as a whistle) for a couple hundred bucks and it's a 3.8 with 25 mpg. It should be ok for a while!

Re: fill 'er up?

It's runnin about $2.80 here. My truck sure likes to drink gas, that Quadrajet is gonna get rebuilt soon and maybe I'll drop a HEI distributor in. Dad says it won't help the gas mileage but I figure it would since it puts out way more spark. I have to fill the truck up about every 8 to 10 days depending on how much I cruise around. My welding machine is the same way when it comes to fuel. That big old 320CI Hercules straight 6 uses a lot of gas.
