New to the board

Just wanted to say hey

I am working on a father/son project with my boy (he's only 9 now). We are going to be working on a 79 GMC C10. Powerplant wil be a 4bolt 327 w/h T400, I am wanting to do a cantilever/4link setup on the rear and tubular a-arms up front. I look forward to all of your help on this project. I know I will need it. Especially with things like rear end gears, brake conversions, and things of that nature!

Ya the truck groups have always been closer than any other car group Ive ever been around!

as for my son getting the truck its definitley his, Im just going to have to fight myself between getting his done by the time he turns 16 or getting my 99 Burban done!

Red Robbin is much better!

Can anyone tell me what spindles, hubs to use as an upgrade?

Re: New to the board

Been to a Red Robin, but I would put Fudruckers ahead of the ones I have been to.

If you are lowering and are going for a good look and a quality company that has about everything look at "CPP" Classic Performance Products. They did an article in "TRUCKIN" magazine (Volume 32) on an older truck BUT the vehicles throughout that era are all basically the same. It is the outfit that I am considering. I also support the use of "BellTech" products.

Nice to have ya aboard Leks and especially another local!

Re: New to the board

like piecesparts said as far as an upgrade they are all the same basically but some of are truck came factory with a 1 in rotor and others came with a 1.25 in rotor (diffrent hub rotor and spindal) but if you are going to lower it anyway then buy the drop spindals for the 1.25 rotor and then buy upgrade it that way. others out there please add or correct any info that i missed or twisted in refrince to what im talking about (are the callipers the same fron 1 in to 1.25 in?)
