Re: ***ebay Finds***

I guess I don't understand why we need to break this out. It seems to me that if I was looking for a blazer, I'd go to the trucks for sale section or the blazer section. It doesn't seem like the "ebay finds" were clogging up the Blazer section. They often prompted good discussions, like the green original Jimmy with the dual spares.

Re: ***ebay Finds***

well a lot of people post ebay finds all over the place and if they were in central location it will most likely be viewed more, discussions can still be had like b4

Re: ***ebay Finds***

With the production numbers of Blazers/Jimmys being nominal vs the trucks I can see our posts lost in the pages. Not to mention the pages of parts posts that will occur. Since it is a subcategory of General Discussion I guess that means that other year’s truck, blazers/jimmys, and burbs will also fill the pages. I don't want to look through pages of "Sweet NOS '98 Bumper on eBay" type posts to find 69-72 Blazer/Jimmy specific posts.

I love the 1969-1972 Blazers and Jimmy's section the way it is and agree with Bouncy that Blazer/Jimmy eBay finds "promoted good discussions" I also agree that these posts are not clogging up the pages in our section.

I did see that this is a "Beta" forum, so the issue in not totally settled yet. Thank you. If there is a problem of eBay posts taking too much area in other sections could subcategories be created in each of the different sections instead of throwing them all in General Discussion? Also what about Autotrader, craigslist, ect.. posts? That is all I have, thanks for reading.

Re: ***ebay Finds***

Bah humbug! It`s just like when all trucks for sale were all scrambled together. If you`re into a particular vehicle, which most are(which is why we have seperate sections),you don`t want to go sifting through a bunch of S10 and`99-up Silverado crap that you can find on any used car lot. And,it seems things have slowed down a bit here to me(67-72 stuff) and Ebay references have been supporting the lack of activity. There`s alot more to an Ebay reference than,"hey look, something for sale."Alot of discussion comes from these posts about originality, comparisons to our vehicles' values, etc.I think it`s watering things down a bit too much.

Edit:I just read Liz`s info.Is this only for references to things we are selling on Ebay and not at all for pointing out interesting items we`ve seen there?

Re: ***ebay Finds***

But I don't wannna. This isn't faaaairrrrrr. I don't like it. (just thought I'd give ya some actual whining.)

Isn't part of beta testing to get opinions to see if it is working? Is there going to be a "craigslist finds" section too? What about a "collectorcartraderonline finds" section?

Re: ***ebay Finds***

Our ebay blazer finds that, as said, promoted good discussion, have just been handed a death sentence :(

What masses wanted it this way? I'm lost  Am i looking in the wrong spot, or is this a general issue, and not a BLAZER issue?
(http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=197674) Where i'm looking, looks like the 'masses' did not want this.

Now we're being called whiney asses and hardheaded!!!!

How about ebay BLAZER finds only, pleeeassseeee??!?!?! We cant post more ebay blazer auctions now?!?! This was such a good post, now where has it gone? : http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=197617

OK it took me a bit of finding my way around but i think i'm starting to get a bit used to it. There is no question, finding blazers and only blazers in this new ebay section will be tough, so i've taken the liberty (heh heh) of creating this thread in that section:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...98#post1687698
It's JUST for ebay blazers that we find interesting. Going to that 1 post should save some time vs. sorting through a page/s of posts etc. Maybe if it gets enough action it can even become stickafied in the new ebay fings section!

Thanks!

Hey folks enough *****ing! If you like the new section fine, if you don't fine. Face it, this is a forum with a lot of folks which means a lot of different ideas about the way things would be better. If anyone thinks that they can do a better job running the Blazer board feel free to volunteer to take my place.

Re: ***ebay Finds***

Is it possible to nominate someone?

krue 05-02-2006 03:01 AM

Re: ***ebay Finds***

Feel free.

I mean, what's the procedure if some one wanted to? Is this the area for that? I was jw. Thanks.

Re: ***ebay Finds***

If you wanna be a volunteer, let Liz know. Every so often they swap up (90 days or so). As far as being a mod, I guess when a spot comes open and you've done a good job as a vol, you may be asked.

Re: ***ebay Finds***

<insert ***** here>

<insert whine here>

hehe

I see both sides of the arguement.

I can see where the ebay finds might be a good thing for the people that just want to browse. I also think that if people like us, who love blazers/jimmys like our own children (eventhough I have neither..teehee) We should be able to post here as well.

One other stingy bad note...With everyone being able to see the for sales, it takes away from people like me who are waiting for the "right" deal..lol

Ok, but, like I said, Im not complaining, I can see both sides!

Medicanman71 05-02-2006 02:33 PM

Re: ***ebay Finds***

I'm not volunteering, i'm asking if this is the proper place to nominate people, and if not, where is?

Liz 05-02-2006 06:34 PM

Re: ***ebay Finds***

There is not a nomination process. If someone wants to volunteer to help they can PM me about it. Josh or myself post a Voly needed post on General Discussion when the rotation is near ending. Anyone interested in volunteering then would PM me and we go from there. Mods are chosen by Josh, and usually from within the volunteer staff if the forum staff is not able to mod a certain area.
