Truck Cover Recommendations ?
 

Just recently got my restored '71 4x4 out of moth balls from winter storage. After checking all the fluid levels, tire pressure, etc. headed for the nearest car wash for a hand wash and chamoi (spelling here ? ) wipe. I like the dark blue metallic but it is a dust magnet almost as bad as black.

Any one care to share their experiences with a good, decent truck cover that protects from dust, cats, birds, etc. for the paint and will not scratch the paint your trying to protect. I have a long bed, stock hight 4x4 with the radio antennea on the cowl, passenger side. Don't want to buy one that scratches the paint and does not protect. Truck sets inside a covered shed when not driven but the shed is open on one side. Lots of dust blowing here in the Kansas flatlands. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Wow, alot of company's make covers, but as you know they're all vastly
different, I use a Wallyworld cover on "GQ" but it's in a garage so I really
don't have to worry about wind, it would probably scratch the paint, if it
was painted, but it works well for what I use it for, if you have invested
in a better than average paint job I would not skimp on a cover, jmho ;)

I have to keep my truck just under a harbor freight tarp.Guess that isnt bad
since its just a frame right now.:lol:

My truck is parked outside. I use a Wolf cover. It is water proof and soft underneath. It is also taylored to the truck, so it fits like a glove.

My dad keeps his truck outside under a Wolf cover also.

I use California Car Cover on all my cars, they have a lot of different styles to chose from like if the car sits indoors or lives outside most of the time. It seems to keep my 56 Chevy truck pretty clean and helps protect it from scratches. They can also make custom covers like I needed for my 56 Extended cab truck.

I have two covers. One is a Wolf indoor/outdoor cover like mentioned above. It works well in all conditions except flash floods. I recommend leaving the tailgate down so that the cover acts as a slide for the rain water. My newest cover is cover is an indoor only Covercraft FormFit. I like the fact that it is stretchy and the material is extremely soft. It also fits in a storage bag, unlike the Wolf.

I've been using one of those tyvek (sp) on my blazer for a couple years now.

It's light weight and 'fairly' form fitting and does a great job as far as keeping dust/dirt/water off.

I intend on getting a wolf or cali cover but this one was only 80 bucks, so until it wears out I'll keep using it.

I've been using the Wolf I believe it's the ( Evolution 4 ) . I got it from Classic Industries in SoCal ,using a 20% off postcard .
I've only had it for 2 years but works great here by the ocean .

Thanks for the feed back on the truck covers. Seems as if the Wolf brand of cover is pretty popular. The Tyvek cover also looks interesting. With the comments here it gives me some back ground info to go on. Thanks again for the feed back and comments.

I have a Wolf as well and love it. It fits very well. It is bulky though so you can roll into a ball and stick in a bag. Also try JC Whitney.com, sometimes they have a good price if you tack a 15% code.
