S-10 window guides

Window Guides

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone help this guy - he is on my Forum , Tool Talk , and needs help with window guides on an S-10 .
"I am in the process of cleaning up an older truck for my son. It is a 1987 Chevy S-10. I am in the process right now of replacing the windows weatherstripping, and I have ran into a bit of a problem. On the drivers side is one broken window guide. Now, to see how this thing installs I started on the passenger side window, so I could see how they are placed, and how they are installed. Well, of course with my luck, I have one of the passenger side guides break as well. Now, I have purchased two of these guides, since I now need two, but, looking at the window, and how it rests in the channel, I can not figure out how to get this plastic piece to get into the window and then get it to snap into place. The new weather stripping is in, and now the window wants to kick forward.

I would appreciate any help, or a step by step guide to help me get the things in. I am sure there is a trick, and I am sure it is an easy thing to do, but, I can not figure it out."

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

Mark

Re: S-10 window guides

They just press together, it is not easy but they do go together. I made myself a tool for them making the job much easier. I welded a small nut and bolt to each side of some pliers, works slick.
