Single or double wall top?
 

I've got a 69 Blazer that originally had a double wall top. I rolled it a few years ago and have been slowly putting the pieces back together. Last year I got a good used single wall top for it. I have the oppurtunnity to get a double wall top again and actually make a buck on the side from my boss who wants to buy a top from me. Ok, what's the problem?:confused: I have the choice of the two tops to choose as a keeper, and I can't decide. :hmm: The double wall is a little heavier, and better insulated, but the single wall top is easier to remove since the bolts go from the top down and I wouldn't have to remove the interior panels to do so. Hmm... I had a single wall top on mine and the rear passengers never complained of it being too hot or too cold. Not sure if the double wall really does anything for you. My heat and AC does kick butt. The weather is only a few degrees cooler where you live.

And if I rember right the single wall tops have dome lights.

Ahh, you are correct about the two dome lights. Excellent point. Single top, hands down.

Your 69 won't be set up for a single wall......the bedrails won't have the nut welded to the underside-could be an easy fix if you decide on the single wall.:bowtie:

yup yup yup..... but a single wall is lighter and unless you and your buddy have scharzanegger backs thats a big thing + the dome lights are killer for draining the battery when you leave the door open.

I would make the single wall work. Obviously if your fixing a rolled rig, you can fab some nut to the under of the bed rails.

I was lucky, "GQ" had a double when I bought it, the "Roadster" has
a single, I'm gonna swap it over to "GQ" since it is set-up for either
top, it has both sets of mounts in the bed rails, I don't believe that
a single will fit where a double was, I think the hole placements not
the same for the tops, so swapping might be a lil harder for you ;)

Well it seems like everybody seems to agree...I'm keepin the single top. Besides, it's already on the truck now. As far as drilling new holes and welding in nuts, no big deal compared to all the rollover damage. You guys rule!! Thanks to all. Jon
