Lund vs. Extang
 

I'm looking for a new tonneau cover for one of my trucks. Anyone had experience with Lund of Extang? I'm interested in getting one of the "tri-fold" covers but don't know how the quality of these two cover makers compares.

Any preferences?

im not sure on those two but i have a truckhyde and its ok, was on the truck when i bought it. up here in nd, everybody has an access toneau cover. they are made up here and are really nice. http://www.agricover.com/index.php/p...s/category/C9/

I have been running Extang "Platinum" covers for a long time on two of my trucks. The company stands behind their warranties and parts guarantees, withput any complaints. I had to replace on of the vinyl covers just last week, because of some damage and I had to buy it, because of the date of manufacture was to long ago, they cover a tarp for five years. That is pretty good in anybody's books. I have no experieince in the tri-fold designs, though.

I ran a Truxedo on my 82 and I loved it. It was always tight in hot or cold and they claim to warranty it for life. (I never had to find out though) It has a one latch design rather then having to pull 2 latches to get the cover open.

I have also been curious about the trifolds, but with my gooseneck on my dually, I believe that I will go with another soft cover. I would love to go with the Truxedo again but they are spendy. But, with a lifetime warranty............I'm still tossed up.

I had my Truxedo for a little over a year and saw no issues. Except for you don't want to stack too much on the rails. I loaded a bunch of hay in my truck one day and one of the rails slid down a bit. I just had to readjust it though.
