1995 ABS light stays on, pedal soft. help?

1995 1500 4x4. the ABS light stays on and the pedal seems to go down too far. No leaks and the pads/shoes are good. This truck must have the 4Whl antilock because it has huge ABS box(es).
I'm sure this issue has been covered many times before, knowing the typical problem GM trucks had with this, but I couldn't find anything on it. thanx for any help, DAVE

If the pedal is soft and goes down it sounds like you need a new master cylinder.
