LS1 2WD Finally runs!!

2 Attachment(s)
My LS1 Blazer finally cranked today. The swap went much easier than I had expected, and even started on the first try. I never expected a stock 5.3 to sound this good and run this good. It needs a lot of cleaning and a radiator but 6 month warranty was coming up and I had to hear it run.

Does a 5.3 = 327 cubic inches?, what should I expect to pay for an LS1 and what years and models were they in?

Those pics are coming! I have to put in the TH400 and get a radiator then you will have plenty of pics.

I believe it is around 325 but im not real sure. The LS1 came int 1998 and up camaros and corvettes (the corvette changed to the LS6 and then the LS2). You should expect to pay $2000-$5000 for one depending on how complete it is (accessories, computer and whatever else) and mileage. On my next one I am going to use a 6.0L. They can be had a little cheaper and make awesome torque and horespower.

Con crats! We need more pics of the blazer as well. I have a 6.0L in my 2000 2500pu with a hard 270,000 miles on it so far and to date only the water pump has been replaced! And that was done at 250k only because they saw a wet spot. I am thinking about a 6.0L/ 4L80 set up in my 70 2wd with a super charger slapped on for good measure.

I guess I spoke too soon on how easy this was. I went out and tried to crank it to but it will not run. It willl turn over and fire but thats it. Here's some more pics of ithttp://community.webshots.com/album/448808062jcOgUS It has a long ways to go but it wouldnt be fun if it was easy.

Its back up and running. You will love the sound. I didn't expect anything this awesome out of such a small motor.

I used the stock tank with an external walbro 255 and since its a truck motor it already had the fuel pressure regulator.
