Rim Question

2 Attachment(s)
I just bought some 20 x 8 torq thrust II rims with 275-45-20 tires. I have an air bag set up in the rear and the front is lowered with a 1" spring and 2" drop coil. There's another person in the forum that had them on, but he had 255-35-20 tires on, but his blazer's lower than mine. Here's a picture of what his looks like. Do you think the tires that I got are too big??? Should I get the 255's instead???

Re: Rim Question

I may be wrong, but 255's would set you up higher than that, I think
it looks very good just the way it is, but it's your rig, and its jmho ;)

Re: Rim Question

Here is an ad from Craigslist that may or may not help you out...

link removed because lister is a cheap a** see posts below

The guy had 245-40-20 on his 20x8 torqs. Kind of hard to tell by the black, but it may help you out. Also I don't know how much you paid, but maybe the ad is a better deal (although they are two-tone, with your white blazer they will work)? And I like the idea of having 20x10's in the back. Just a thought.

Re: Rim Question

the question is, do you think they are too big? Its your truck. If you like it, go with it. personally I think 275-45 -20 has too much side wall. I would buy a 40 series tire, but it all depends on what you like. the tire size you have will fit with no problems if you got the correct offset on your wheels. I say, mount them up.

Re: Rim Question

I got them for $2300!!! Brand new and shipped from wheelsforless.com!!! The guy told me that the total diameter with the 275's would be 29" versus 27" for the 255's. The blazer sits a little high so that shouldn't be too bad...should it???

aaallllrrriiiggghhhtt...I went with the 40's. =) The guy said there was about an inch difference between the 45 series and the 40 series. It went up a little in price though. Now the total is $2475. Still not too bad.

Hotrod...

Okay...now that I'm getting new rims and since you've seen them...how much do you think I should sell them for??? My pictures are too huge for the forum, but they're 17" Billet Specialties. I have to check when I get home, but the front has 245's on them, but the rear is HUGE. I believe it has 305's on them. Here's the old pictures again

Luv...

I paid my $25 dues!!! :)

Re: Rim Question

Alan the only thing I didn't like about your ride was the rims. Too 90's for my taste, but with the new rims and tires your ride will look even sweeter. :metal: Make sure you post pics (and learn how to resize them) when you get your new shoes on.

Re: Rim Question

I'm not sure how much you could get for them. They are in great shape and the rear tires are huge, but they look dated. Let me know what your price is when you figure it out. I'm looking to sell my truck but I would like to keep the rims I have. New wheels on your blazer is going to make it top notch. I'm glad you are changing them... good choice too.

Re: Rim Question

You guys should get together for some red, white, and blue pictures. They`re all three top shelf.I`d think worth a professional photoshoot.

Re: Rim Question

LOL!!! I agree...I didn't like the rims too much either and now that I'm not selling it...the first thing I wanted to do was get new shoes!!!! :)

Tim you are too kind. My ride is not up to the professional photoshoot level that is for sure, but a red, white, and blue picture is a cool idea. Damn we need a northern California get together.

Re: Rim Question

255/35-20s are really too small unless you just need that diameter wheel to layout. I have 245/40-20s which is the next size up .. but if I had to replace them I think I would go with the 255/40-20 or 255/45-20.

Re: Rim Question

I agree!!! Are there a lot of blazer owners in Northern California??? I just found out a buddy of mine moved out to Antioch about a year ago and he's got one too!!! It's white as well. He actually sells parts and restores blazers as a side job. I think he's a board member. His site is www.vintageblazer.com. I don't know where everyone lives or how far you are from Antioch, but there's a restaurant out here called Schooners that hosts a mini car show every Monday or one Saturday we can get together and have potluck BBQ. Whatever...I'm down!!! :)
