Remote Door Locks

Hey I need a hand from the 'new' trucks folk.

How do I program or 're-program' a remote door opener?

Here's the scenario...
I just picked up a 2001 HD that doesn't have the remote door openers with it.

I/we have a 2004 Trailblazer that has an extra one.

I want to program the extra one to my 01 HD, anybody know how?

It looks to be the exact same as all toe other remotes I had when I was running my 00/01 & 02's before.

Upon further investigation...aka digging. :(

The P/O had left an old alarm system in the truck.
Holly extra wires!

Felt like I was removing a freaking tumor or something.

Still won't program, any other ideas?
I ordered a remote from the dealer using my vin number, that one won't program either.
Checked all the fuses/wiring, can't find any 'evidence' of anything wrong.

Just a thought, but you may not have the receivers on your fuse block for remote keyless entry. In other words, if you have the transmitters (keyfobs), but nothing to transmit to the keyfob won't work. Hope this helps.

Everything is still intact but I believe the alarm the p/o installed is the problem.
I 'surgically' removed the entire harness but to date nothing has worked and I'm not going to pay a dealership 100's of dollars just to avoid using my key. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion/input though.

Read Post #3. That is how I did mine after I lost my keys and got new key fobbs. It worked on the first try.

You may also want to try unhooking the battery for a few minutes so the computer can "re-set" itself before you try the new code sequence. There might be something saved in there from the previous owner's alarm system.

Depending upon how you truck was optioned it may or may not have factory keyless entry.
Check the RPO codes to see if it was equipped from the factory with it.

Yeah, did all that but mine doesn't 'do' step #5

99-2door, while I was @ the dealership they printed off a spec sheet directly from my vin #.
It even told my all the warranty work that had been done and where it came from when sold as new.

To be honest, I don't know...didn't check em.

I'm over it, I was used to not having remote entry when I drove my '72 as a daily driver, so it's really not a change. ;)
