Re: '77 chev step. project update
Cool progress pics, you are doing a very good job!!
Two questions, what is custom about the tailgate? Are you planning on changing that steering wheel? |

Taking shape...
Jeff - He added some filler pieces around the inside border of the tailgate. Subtle, but cool... Like they say, mods are really done right if others really don't notice them right away. Keep moddin' |

Re: '77 chev step. project update
hey guys, thanx! definately like the gmc with the blower!!! sweet sweet. my plans for color is a custom "prowler orange".. its an orange with gold metal-flake in it.. made to look closer to the house of color's "sunset pearl" i cant afford the pearl paint... (being only 18 makes it hard to afford anything) so im just going with the metallic. i plan to have it ready for paint in a week or two.. definately will pose some more pics up when shes done paint!

Re: '77 chev step. project update
Wow may I ask what that hideous thing is on the cab? A spoiler? They belong on decklids and hopefully you'll be taking it off. Nice truck other than that.

Looks good. Keep up the good work!

Re: '77 chev step. project update
i bought the headlights at a local indoor car show... standard 7 1/2 ero blue-dots. they upgrade the look of the truck nicely. and as for the spoiler on top of the cab... theres two reasons i decided to put it there, one being the led third brake light, and the other being that it makes the truck a one of a kind. i've never seen it done before (maybe cauz it is hideous) or cuz noone has the balls. the tough thing was finding one that at least kinda fit the contours of the truck. and that my friend, is my two cents lol. its so staying up there.

Re: '77 chev step. project update
Well it is your truck afterall and to each their own. I do know one fella that has a spoiler on his roof and its on a truck of this vintage, it's off an old 1st gen Camaro, molded to the roof, it's on a guys wrecker, he used to be a body man and has like the sweetest wrecker there is but doesnt use it anymore :( But if you like it, roll with it, but it certainly aint my cup of tea. Nice truck otherwise tho

Re: '77 chev step. project update
thanx man.. i've heard more bad things than good about the spoiler... but for me, it kinda grew on me. again, thank-you.

Re: '77 chev step. project update
kyle considerring your age your probably not aware that the cab spoiler was big on these trucks about the time you were born. It was real common to see mid 80's Trans Am spoilers mounted just like yours. If you like it, tell everyone your doing it cause it's "retro" style. If they don't like it tell em to kiss your butt.
BTW- You cleaned up real nice in the graduation pic. How much did you have to pay that pretty girl to stand next to you? Just kidding, she's really pretty and you make a nice looking couple. |

You can usually get the tri-bars at local rod shows like steemin said or at other places like Yogi's, SouthernRods or Summit. Besides blue, they also come in red and black. |

Re: '77 chev step. project update
Yeah if you like the spoiler then roll with it man! You know how much flak I catch just for going with a 70 series tire instead of a 50??? Yeah exactly. you like it you roll with it.
Man, you need to keep the chain sterring wheel and get the gas pedal that is shaped like a foot. My dad would have your babies (yes he would be the first male to bare children) he used to always joke about the chain wheel and the foot gas pedal. Thank god he was just joking.... |

http://73-87.com/Special_Editions/fa...ct/impact1.jpg I catch a lot of crap for having a lowered truck with 15" tires and Dumbo ear mirrors. I don't care. Its what I like. Keep what you have and enjoy it. It wil look great when it is done. :) Slonaker |
