New Coil Springs
I am rebuilding the suspension soon and getting parts list together now.
I am seriously considering replacing the coil springs and want opinions. Truck does not appear to be abused in the past so I doubt the springs were overloaded. Rears are HD option. I see aftermarket also has a HD spring for the front. Should I go with it or stay with the normal one? I prefer ride over load as the truck won't be hauling very often. Thoughts? I plan on using NAPA 2nd line suspension parts which is TRW, MOOG is just too $$$. |
Re: New Coil Springs
Just my $,02, If you have an optioned out small block (AC etc), I'd go HD. That is my plan for mine when I replace them. Regular probably OK, I just wnt that extra bit of firmness.

Re: New Coil Springs
The lighter springs will give you a smoother ride. That's my choice in a truck that rarley hauls.

Re: New Coil Springs
What ever brand you get, get variable rate springs, especially for rear or it'll be bouncy. I bought hd rear springs and ended up getting standard rate springs because of the bounce.

Re: New Coil Springs
Interesting, I was trying to decide between variable and constant rate and was readin about it just now. I am thinking about going without HD in the rear.

Re: New Coil Springs
HD won't be variable rate.
