make sure you use the one with the best windshield frame as i have come to know it for me was the hardest to replace .

I removed the tub off of the 69 up to the motor mounts of the cab.. going to use the posts too. so far just lots of sweat and work. the rocker boxes we shot on the one I am restoring so I removed them too.

Make sure to brace things up before you cut out the stock braces.

I'm taking plenty of pics, but they for some reason exceeed the file length for this site. gonna have to figure out how to get them into smaller file size, haven't had the time to mess with it yet..to much work on Blazer.
Got the frame brushed off with wire brushon grinder. gonna spray it with undercoat.
Replacing all body mount hardware, new springs, shocks, brake lines, wiring, and about out of money...may be next year before I get final paint.

Go to the faq submissions page, look for the Index thread and there should be links to how to resize your pics.

Blew my air compressor, just got the parts in. Progress is about to start again. GOing to undercoat everything today. apply second coat to frame and with any luck, put the body back on the frame. But we all know that it is always slower than we expect.
Will post more pics this week.

We go through a record heat wave temps in the 100+ range, I plan to spray and it rains two days in a row....lol anyway gonna wait till its real hot about 11am and do it.. gonna do the undercoat outside in the sun it ought to dry before it hits...

Re: Tub replacement on 1971 Blazer

Well parts still haven't come in for air compressor..never by oiless again...
so I borrowed an old one.
Have the frame, bed, cab floor all sprayed used bedliner looks good. and should definately handle any noise and rust problems.
Got the springs installed on a 4 inch lift. Ran into one big mess when I went to replace the steering arm..if you haven;t dealt with one of those yet..it is pretty tough. I finally had to take a tourch and blow the conical washers out. Then I couldn't find any replcements. Luckily a guy ine East Monroe, La has a big 4 wheel drive yard said "Hell Yea I got some of them" I just box em up and send them to you" mail me a check when you get them"
He is gonna send me his card and stuff .. said he had 30 years worth of 4WD parts and some blazers.. think I am going to make the drive...for some small stuff...
anyway as soon as I get off my lazy tail and shoot some pics will post them.
It has been heat index in the 110+ here and after 5-6 hours in the shop.. I am whooped.....

Looking good! Keep the pics coming. Can't wait to see it together. I've got to go through alot of the same stuff, so I'm curious to see what obstacles you come across. Thanks for keeping us "in the loop" with your progress.

Well, i have done lots of work, but didn't take the pictures I intended to take as I worked along on this. Pardon the dust from sanding. I replaced the tub (from a 69 GMC). Floor pans, inside rocker supports, rockers, kick panels, inside and outside door bottoms, both front fenders, pillar bottom passenger side, and bottom of the door hinge side of the drivers side. 4" inch lift, new shocks (BACK IS HIGHER THAN FRONT). Got to work on that. Bedliner frame, undercarriage, and inside. Now my obstacles are door alignment, which is a two man job and I need a little help. The hood sticks up about 1/2-3/4 inch in the back, for some strange reason. Not sure how to correct it. So it is no big obsticle ...lol most of what I have done has been a first for me.. made lots of mistakes, but learned a ton.. mostly from you guys. Now I got to save up my pennies to paint it. ANy questions ask.
