My truck is slanted! ARGH!

I posted this already in another part of the forum, and realized that this section was here, so well....now here it is in the correct section

I have an '81 C-10. The truck rides fine however when you look at it from the front, its obvious that the front end of the truck on the driver's side is sitting lower than the passenger's side. Its not really noticable while riding inside though, only when viewing the truck from the front and the issue only seems to be on the front; the rear of the truck appears level. Unfortunately I just moved and don't have my digital camera here with me yet, so I can't post pictures yet. Any suggestions on the problem or solution?

Also, does anyone have any step by step pictures of a drop job?

problem - collapsed coil spring

solution - replace coil spring

You've got the infamous "chevy lean". Lot of the newer body style trucks have this problem, even from the factory. Like Shane said, it's most likely one of your coils. Although I wouldn't recommend it, there are companies that make coil limiters that fix this. I think it's a urethane piece that fits in between the coils to limit its travel. Don't know how safe they would be though. Have you isolated the problem to the front for sure?

you could always get yourself a fat girlfriend to sit in the passenger seat and even things out

Or better yet, two regular-sized girlfriends.

the poly spacers space up the low side to even it out. and yes, its the typical chevy lean.

Good excuse to bag it.
