Gas tank switchability?

Any of ya'll know if a pass side gas tank is the same as a driver side tank?

They look the same size wise to me but I don't know if there might be a difference in the way the sending unit and all mounts into the tank.

I found a pass tank from a swb truck and need to use it in my 85 that only has one tank.

The sending units are different and you will have to remove the tank straps and move the brackets to the other side. Sometimes the fuel tank strap will break before it will unbolt even if you are careful to hold it and use pentrating oil. The tanks themselves are the same.

I'm not stationed here, I just live around here because it's literally twice as cheap to live anywhere within 20 or so miles from base.

You must have spent some time here ha? I really like it though since there are people from every part of the country, that makes it a little more fun.
