any difference between '72 Blazer and Pickup frames?

Hi folks, I've been reading these threads for a few days and by luck I stumbled across a 1972 4wd complete rolling frame for a steal near my home. It is from a Blazer but I was wondering if a '72 truck body would work in it also. I didn't know if there was much difference in the two frames concerning body mounts etc. Also, it's extremely hard to find a 4wd '72 truck or blazer around here so if I found a 2wd and mounted the body of either on the 4wd frame, does that affect how the vehicle is titled? The vin number would still say its 2wd right? Sorry for so many questions, but these years of chevy are the best looking by far and I have always wanted one. Here is my chance, but I just want to know what I'm getting into. Thanks for your time.

1st - :welcome2: From West TN :hi2:

2nd - The wheelbase is different, IIRC Blazer is shorter by 9"

Welcome to the board.

As Luv said, Blazers are shorter than a short bed PU. People have put pickup cabs on Blazer frames and either shortened the bed or put a flat bed on it (someone is working on a project like that right now).

If you find a 2wd Blazer and you want a 4wd, don't convert. 2wd Blazers are few and far between. I'm sure you could find someone on the board willing to either take that off your hands or trade you for their 4wd.

There are a lot of Blazers in TX. If you want a complete Blazer, keep searching. They made less than 80,000 First Generation (1969-1972) Blazers. When you factor in how many have met their demise, the amount left is considerably less. Be patient and one will turn up. Keep an eye here, on CK5.com, Pirate4x4.com, craigslist.org, collectorcartraderonline.com and ebay.

Thanks for the information. Its been a long time since I've seen a 2wd blazer although I must admit they look awesome. I've always had an idea for either a 4wd truck or blazer and the great deal on the complete frame got me fired up. I guess I just have to keep looking for a complete blazer or someone who might have a good blazer tub/body. Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to learning more as I dive deeper into the threads. Any idea about the titleing issues? Is that even and issue at all? Thanks

Take your time, don't get in too much of a hurry, and things will appear
before you, I might have an extra tub here in a few months, I'm working
on a possible deal on my 4wd Blazer, but if it doesn't sell I'm gonna put
my 4wd tub on my 2wd frame, which means I won't need my 2wd tub ;)

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! Around here it wouldn't be an issue on the title, but you may want to check the laws in Texas.

***Edited by Moderator***."bringing them back one at a time"
I did have to kill the 69 Jimmy though to bring back the 71 Blazer. I sort of called it an organ transplant...
