How to go about lowering?

So i want to lower my ride(1968 chevy 1/2 ton longbed stepside)..its understandable. But i am not to sure about how to approach this.

I want to get a brake conversion kit for the fronts..i have seen some that include a 2 1/2" drop...should i do this BEFORE or AFTER i get lowered springs?

Also, are those brake conversion kits hard? like the one seen here

Also, i want a total of 3"(or 3 1/2") in the front and 5" in the back. So AFTER the brake conversion kit which set of coils should i go for? HERE

or am i just going about this all wrong? Bascially i hate my drum brakes...and i want to lower my truck to a mean looking level(without scraping)

Do the whole thing at the same time (if you can afford to buy all the correct parts to do so). For a 3" to 3.5" front drop I would go 2 1/2 drop spindles and 1" drop front springs. I beleive ECE makes 5" drop coils.
Call ECE : http://www.earlyclassic.com/ These guys are so helpful and will make you feel comfortable with what you are doing.

I went with ECE 2.5" drop spinds and 2" Ground force front drop springs, 4" ECE drop coils in the back. Truck has RAKE. Hope this helps.

Many of the vendors on this BB carry kits to drop and stop your truck. You will need to change master cylinders and probably want to add a power brake booster. There will be several threads on this modification so do a search and your research. Also check out the pics section and see what drop you want.
