North Carolina Title Question
Hey all the NC folks out there. I have a question on title transfers.
My truck isn't road ready yet and I have transfered the title yet which is dated last year. My question is will I encounter any problems getting the title transfered to my name with a date on it for june 05 ??? Sparky |

Re: North Carolina Title Question
It shouldn't matter. Just be sure to have your bill of sale, insurance paperwork. When I lived there, I also added my truck to my property tax so that I would have a record of the truck being in my possession and not running. I thought that would help substantiate my story. Naturally, I moved to another state before I tagged it.

wont matter

Re: North Carolina Title Question
doesn't matter at all here.. as long as the past county taxes are up to date you can transfer the title and tag it at anytime. If they aren't up to date, you will find out when you go to tag it, and can usually get past that with proof of sale anyway.

Re: North Carolina Title Question
sparky one thing I didn't think about before is the notary public deal. Remember in NC both the seller and buyer have to have a notary present for transfers. Make sure the PO had it notarized (sp) for you.

Re: North Carolina Title Question
You will have to pay a late penalty. I think I paid something like $10-15 bucks.
