Questions about hidden tow hitches
1 Attachment(s)
What's up guys, I'm looking for what you guys are running for hidden hitches or if the one's I've seen are modified. I'm running the same bumper that is on this truck. What I'd like to do is have the hitch receiver right behind the license plate, I was thinking the plate could just be mounted to a plate that is mounted to a receiver. Let me know what you guys are running or if you have Ideas.

Re: Questions about hidden tow hitches
Sir Michael's carries hidden hitches for these trucks, http://www.sirmichaels.com/shop/tow.php. Mounting the plate on a support that attaches to the receiver is a good idea. You could also consider attaching the license plate to a spring-loaded bracket that is mounted to the bumper and swings up (or down) to access the receiver. Older cars that have the filler neck behind the rear license plate have these type of brackets.

Re: Questions about hidden tow hitches
I had one custom built for my 97 Chevy. It went through the roll pan and came out behind the license plate. I had a flip up kit, but you can use a fold down plate bracket from a Camaro or Firebird.

Re: Questions about hidden tow hitches
I modified a receiver from a Suburban to fit and remove the license plate when I tow. I think the total investment was around $50.
