Firewall mount question

3 Attachment(s)
On the attached pictures, how does the support on the underside of the cab mount to the one on the firewall. The one on the passenger side just slid out. Not sure if it is supposed to be this way or not. Are these two pieces welded together? Also, is the floor pan welded to the firewall or just sealed with seam sealer so that it can flex a bit? Thanks

Re: Firewall mount question

They ere originally spot welded together. The ones on my orange truck driver side had broke so when I repaired it I used 4 grade 8 bolts instead to reatach the the firewall mounts to the outrigger and construction adhesive. I used the construction adhesive to seal as well as add more strength. As for the floor pan it is spot welded together with seem sealer on top to seal the joint from water and rust. Of note the seam sealer only works if they actually apply it properly ( thanks flint!). I hopre this helps. Good Luck.

Mine was separated there too! I drilled holes, clamped and mig welded it back together. Not sure I understand the other question. I can take pics. of that area if it helps, as mine is still apart. Jim
