new here a fews q's
Live in Houston , tx Just bought a 65 fleet side swb straight six
ok some rust in the cab near the lower vents , is this a common problem for these trucks I did some research and found some companies that offer floor pans (Agood deal) , but I need to stop water coming in, any ideas where to start? Thx, Todd |
Re: new here a fews q's
The vents get their air from the cowl grill. It's perfectly possible for water to run down from the grill and into the vents.
If the water is getting inside, it probably means that the vent seals are old and not working correctly. Imagine that, in a 41 year old truck! :) Brian |

:agree: Plus all the trash that can build up inside(like leafs and old wasp nests):)

Check the rubber silicone in the drip rail, if it is all cracked up or is gone, water will leak in here, and run down the A & B pillars. Next time water starts leaking under the dash, use a flashlight, and shine up the bottom of the A pillar.

Also check your window felts, if they are bad this allows water (rain) to run down inside the doors which then drains out from the drains in the doors and can then collect near the vents and also can get to your rocker panels depending on the angle the truck sits. experience taught me this lesson....
