Gas pedal

For my `68 C10, I知 wondering about gas pedals. Specifically, I know the 67-70 pedals mount on the bottom to a pin on the floor board. I really don稚 like that style. I prefer the 71+ style where it is free standing like modern cars. I知 wondering if I can use on those on my 68 with minimal or no fabrication Currently, all I have is the arm that comes down and has a little curve on the end. I知 driving with no pedal. Any thoughts on how this might work out?

Same deal here. No pedal, just a rod. ( LESS weight makes it faster!!! ) LOL:metal:

Any of you guys have pics of the back of the pedal and the arm that hangs down so I can see if I'm working with similar and if I can just buy the newer style pedal and work with it.

In the tech and tips/faq section, there is a write up to convert from floor mount to hanging gas pedal

Is there a way to keep the pedal from falling off the pins? It just pops off.

Invest in a new pedal....

Seriously though, that's what I wound up doing. The pins wear out the back of the plastic pedal over time. Or depending on how bad the wear is, you might be able to use some sort of filler to tighten those holes up again.

I figured that. I also thought about putting some self-tappers down through the very bottom portion of the pedal. It seems like a new pedal might wear out pretty quickly too.

When I got my truck it didn't even have a gas pedal and I actually prefer driving it like that.

Some self tappers might work.
