First time poster with '70 Chevy
Just wanted to say hi to all of the forum members. I've been reading the posts for a couple of weeks now and I finally got through all 23 pages. Lots of information to absorb, I hope I don't fry my brain…..
Like so many others I have too many projects and it seems like I never get anything done. I'm making more progress now that it has cooled off a bit though. I'm working on a '70 Chevy right now but I bought it as a cab & rolling chassis and still need a lot of pieces. I'm going to look at a collection of parts Monday or Tuesday that a guy wants to sell but I don't know what all he has. I have the frame pretty well done with some updates and a TPI & 700r4 installed. Glad to be a part of the group. LockDoc |

Here are a couple of pics. The frame is a shortened longbox frame. I have an original shortbox frame but the numbers didn't match my title so I shortened the original frame so that the VIN on the title matched the frame and cab.

Here is a shot of the firewall after I removed everything and cleaned it up.
I finished up the frame a couple of weeks ago and set the motor in it last wednesday. |

Thanks for putting out the welcome mat. Here is another shot of the frame/motor combo and one of the firewall after I painted it Friday. The color is a creamy yellow, about the same color as a '68 Nova that my daughter had.
I used the complete front crossmember out of the blue '77 chevy in the background and the '65 pickup was rescued from the crusher at the salvage yard a couple of miles from me. LockDoc |
