Progress on 68K-10

I call it PHASE 1 (getin er- runnin!) Not much to look at yet but a few Ebay finds got the 68 running again.:metal:
Edelbrock 2101 Holley 1850 Malorey HEI upgrade (thanks for help from this site!) Only cost $225 for it all. Oh yeah, it's an original 327 SBC. The zip ties are only until I get the headers on. One question, I have seen it both ways, Heater hoses, intake to top or bottom connection on Heater core? I swear that the original setup was like this? thanks....:help: |

Re: Progress on 68K-10
Good start on you project, the bottom heater hose is the inlet from the intake, and the top hose is the outlet side that connects to the water pump or radiator. It should work either way, but the air should purge from the core easier if the outlet is on top. BTW - what are you going to do with the old Q-jet ? I could use one for parts, send me a PM if you want to sell it.

Re: Progress on 68K-10
Of course I need to finish cleaning up the engine bay. Next is the bed I guess, it's coming off and getting a blazer tank. Then I will install my NOS black wood floor (I will document that one). then...
Brakes Exhaust then she should be ready to drive... amazing how it adds up $$$ to do the little things. The wife know that I need $1500 or so to get it on the road! anyone have any holley parts to trade for the Q-jet? I need a full choke setup, this one came from the south and the choke was removed. |
