New Blazer guy to the board

3 Attachment(s)
I posted this in the welcome section first, but I thought that I would introduce myself to the Blazer guys since this where I will spend a lot of my time on the board.

First of all, I wish to say I am happy to be part of this forum. It seems like a nice place to be. My project is A 1970 Blazer that I am going "Retro" with. I am in the part gathering stage right now. I am putting it a 5.7 Vortec, 4L60-E trans and 241 tranfer case from a 1999 Tahoe. Also, I have gotten the Dana 44 and matching 60 from a 1978 Ford F-250 so that my front driveline will come out on correct side with the new transfer case. This winter is when all these part start going together. To top it off, A 4 inch lift with 35's are planned. My hope is to use it as a summertime , show, cruise-in rig with my wife and 2 girls. This is my second Blazer, the first being a 1972 that I owned 20 years ago and sold as a stupid kid. I hope that I can learn from the members here as well as pass along anything that I learn as this project gets on its way. For now, I am going to enjoy the summer driving topless here in Oregon.

Welcome from Ca. You are starting with a good drive train and the proper front diff as well, it will make for a real nice driver. Is it a push button t-case and if so are you going to keep it intact?

Kevin,

It does indeed have the push button t-case, and I hope to keep it that way. I need to figure out how to wire it in, not mention figure out a lot of the other wiring to make this whole thing work.

I am actually in Albany, which is still north for you. I bought it from a guy in Portland who had bought it in Washington and had not titled it here in Oregon yet.

Welcome from the Seattle Area. Nice lookin' rig. That's a beastly bumper!

I just drove through Albany (on 1-5) yesterday. My parents live in Coos Bay/North Bend and we drove down to see them for the long weekend. I went to school at OSU in Corvallis and did one term at LBCC.
