Skyjacker suspension install on 72 GMC...
2 Attachment(s)
I found this article tonight and thought it was very cool, wanted to share. I'm a little confused though, the past several years the mfrs have been selling us on frame stiffness and how it improves the ride and allows the suspension to work better, or at least thats what I believe they've been saying. But check out the frame flex in this article and how they describe their testing and how the flexible frame allows the wheels to maintain contact in extreme terrain. Seems like the frame is part of the suspension for these trucks. The pictures are amazing.

that just looks scary to me:confused: looks to me like the, if frame keeps twisting like that would break sumwhere in time or twist the body or bed into a pretzel

I`ve twisted them `til the clutch linkage came out of socket. The ol,familiar "front edge of the bed into the back corners of the cab" dents are a telltale, too.

Ride and high speed handling is improved with a stiff frame. Rock crawling demands flex.
