heater core

I need to put a new heater core in my 84 pickup. I have not taken the time to look real close yet, does the heate core come out from the engine bay side or the cab side????
Thanks
Jon

I have never tried it, but here are some instructions that others here have said were helpful.

Re: heater core

The core comes out the passenger side of the cab, BUT the bolts and nuts are in the engine bay. The housing will have to have the heater controls removed from it, which is easy once you remove the glove box from the dash. The heater core is mounted into the interior housing and after you remove the housing from the cab, there are a few small bolts and clamps that hold it in place. Use this opportunity to lube all of your lheater doors and fittings, also.

Re: heater core

Some have had to remove the inner fender to reach one of the bolts, like the article describes. But, with a long extension and an uinversal joint, I was able to access the nut without removing the inner fender. BTW, watch out for any coolant left in the heater core.
